This time I'm traveling with my Dad, Paul, in the downtown Mexico City area. Then we split up and I join Mom and Cecy in Chapultepec Park, a huge park inside Mexico City.
The above pictures may take a few moments to load, but you do not need to wait for them to finish loading if you see one you want to click on, or to select one from the table below.
| Dad and I do a little shopping for various items (candy, in my case), and head towards the Latin American Tower in the distance. |
| The "Palace of Fine Arts." |
| Some sort of radio tower I thought looked interesting. |
| We gut the computer of Carlos Escobar Gutierrez (shown with his son Carlos Escobar Cardona) and install the new Motherboard and some other components Dad bought downtown. Unfortunately, the new motherboard (the memory, actually) didn't work so our job could not be completed. That would have to wait for another day, however. |
| I rejoin part of the family and visit the Anthropological Museum in the large Chapultepec (Grasshopper) Park. |
| A group of students on a field trip. Very popular place for field trips. |
| One of the pyramid recreations depicting the rich archeological background of Mexico. |
| The famous Aztec "Sun Calendar." |
| One of several beautiful murals depicting historical and cultural events in a tribe's life. |
| Another mural. |
| A view of one of the large areas from the upper level. We are not allowed to use flash photography in the museum, so the image is pretty dark. |
| Entering the Mayan area of the Yucatan peninsula region. |
| A view of the outside pyramid replica. |
| A closer view of the outside pyramid. |
| A replica of the typical Mayan hut. |
| Bones and artifacts. An archeologist's dream. |
| Huge head. The light switch on the left gives an idea of the size. |
| The fish pond in the center courtyard. |
| Exiting the museum, I finally run into Mom and Cecy near the outside fountain. |
| A traditional indian aerial dance in progress. For more pictures, see the series in my First Mexico Trip. |
| The entrance sign for the Chapultepec Park Zoo. I waited outside for family members we were expecting while Mom (and Cecy?) went inside. |
| A statuesque statue in Chapultepec park with an airplane for the added touch. |
| This long waterworks sparked some memories. |
| Everywhere you go, people are making good food as you watch. This looked like a good place for lunch in the park. |
| Closeup of the food preparation. |
| A clown gets some audience kids involved. |
| The castle museum at the top of Chapultepec hill. |
| One of the many murals on exhibit. This museum gives a good history of the rise and formation of Mexico. |
| Another mural. |
| A 360 degree panoramic view of Mexico City from the top of the Chapultepec hill, stitched together from eight photos. Smile, Cecy! |
| The "Niños Heroes" -- The Boy Heros, a famous monument to a famous event in the Mexican Independance War. |
| At the end of the day, we straggle home. Mom at the entrance to the apartment. |
| Cecy coming up the stairs into the apartment. |
