These pictures document my recent (May 27-June 12) European trip with my parents, Paul and Cathy. It does not include my trip out, because I'd lent my camera to my Dad for his prior Israel trip -- these pictures start from shortly after we united in Germany. There is curretly no commentary to go with the pictures, so if you have any questions about a picture, just E-Mail me.

When viewing a particular album, it should open a new window. Just close that window when done viewing a particular album, and you should return to this screen where you can select another album.

Click on View to view the screen-friendly pictures. These photos have been adjusted and cropped to look good, with some sub-standard photos removed and some panoramic photos hand-assembled. They will look good on the screen, however prints will look bad. The numbers are how many photos are in each album.

NEW!Click on Print to view the print-friendly version. These pictures are for the most part exactly what the camera took, with no adjustements other than rotation. In a few cases (especially too-dark photos) I played with the color balance a bit, but most are as is. Perfect if you want prints, if you avoid the sub-standard photos.

About printing

The pictures are being hosted by Ofoto, a photo printing service. If you want a printout of any of the photos, they can print them for you for what appears a reasonable price (including some free ones to start with). If you want to do this, make sure you do it from the Print albums rather than the View albums. If you find a photo you want to print in a View with no equivalent in the Print section, let me know and I'll upload it!

Note that the Ofoto service currently can't ship photos outside the US and Canada, so my Europe friends will have trouble ordering prints. Just let me know which prints you want and I can help you order them.

NEW PRINTING INFORMATION

I ordered a set of prints from Ofoto, and am pleased with the results. Here is some information on how to order prints:

  1. First, set up an account with Ofoto; you can do that here: Join Ofoto (close the window when done to return here). If you open an Ofoto account before the end of August, 2000, this gives you 50 free prints and free shipping on your first order.

Unfortunately, the 50 free prints appears to apply only to U.S. and Canadian residents, and photos can only be shipped to U.S./Canadian addresses. I believe, however, European visitors can still set up an account as long as they ship the photos to the U.S. E-Mail me at davidg@hesston.edu if you want to order photos, and I can give you my mailing address so you can ship the photos to me and then I can turn them around and ship then to you when I get them.

  2. Once you have an account (or E-Mail me if you would like me to order photos using my account), you can start selecting photos from the various Print albums. Simply open an album, select the photos you want printed and put them in your "Cart". Once you get to the screen where it shows you all the pictures you selected ("My Cart") and you can select what size you want, how many of each, etc., make sure everything is as you want it, and then click on "Continue"

  3. On the next screen, if you want to select prints from another day/album, simply close the window and you should be back at this page, where you can select another album, etc. Ofoto should remember the photos you selected previously and allow you to keep adding photos.

  4. Once you are done selecting photos, continue by giving your shipping address, credit card number, etc., and you'll should have your photos within a week for U.S. residents.
